Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the lead in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had secured a number of TV roles which included the leading role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. The audience was impressed by her performance in Der Tunnel. This paved the way for other unforgettable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominees featuring female stars. Alexandra is well known for her work in numerous noteworthy projects both domestically and internationally. A few of them include the British biographical documentary Control, Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon. She was also a juror at the Transylvania International Film Festival as well as The Cannes Film Festival.
