Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her professional career in showbiz early. She was a lead actress in TV dramas as young as the age of 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader is another Oscar nominated film that features this stunning actress. Alexandra has been involved in many noteworthy projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. This includes the British biographical films Control Greek dramatic film The Dust of Time French historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. In addition, she was part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
